The “hot young vampire” thing is a trend that simply refuses to die.

Just ask Peter Facinelli, the actor who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the hit Twilight movie series – here on the TV critics tour to promote his other doctor role, as the libidinous, egomaniacal Coop on the much-praised cable dramedy Nurse Jackie.

The 35-year-old Facinelli has also overtaken Ashton Kutcher as the most-tweeted celebrity on the web (as designated by E! Online) with 1.5 million followers.

“I have had a very crazy schedule,” the actor acknowledged at the Nurse Jackie press session. “There was a whole month where I was shooting (the third Twilight instalment) Eclipse and Nurse Jackie at the same time. And I actually enjoyed it because I enjoy what I do.
