New Moon Storms The Box Office

The Twilight Saga: New Moon has landed at the top of the UK box office with £11 million in ticket sales.

The vampire sequel, starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, has taken in more money on its opening weekend than Twilight did in its entire UK theatrical run.

Last week’s box office leader 2012 slips to second place, while A Christmas Carol, Harry Brown and Up complete the top five.

The chart also sees new entries from the latest Coen brothers film A Serious Man and Matt Damon’s corporate comedy The Informant!

The UK box office top ten in full:

1. (-) The Twilight Saga: New Moon – £11,683,158
2. (1) 2012 – £3,496,202
3. (2) A Christmas Carol – £2,224,044

Peter Plays Two Completely Different Doctors In Nurse Jackie’ And Twilight’

Actor Peter Facinelli is stubborn, especially when it comes to his work. When he was just starting out he refused to play any Italian-American roles, though his parents are from Italy.

“I said, ‘No, I don’t want to do that, because with the last name Facinelli that’s all I’ll do for the rest of my life.’ So there were roles I would just say, ‘No! I don’t want to do that. Let me go play the Irish kid.’”

For a beginning actor, that stand proved a sizable risk. “It’s a lot easier if you do one thing well,” he admits. “They know where to put you. When you’re always having to prove yourself, that you can do something – it’s, ‘Well, I’ve never seen him do it. I don’t know.’ But that’s why I WANT to do it.”

Meet The Twi-Hards

Theres a New Moon special in Heat Magazine and theres a page on fans.

Name: Lisa Hennessey
Age: 37
Fave Character: Carlisle
She Says: I have a tattoo on my shoulder that says “Bite me Carlisle” with holes and blood. I’ve spoken to Peter Facinelli who plays him, and I follow his every move with the IPhone application Appinelli. I won’t watch the new film trailers as I’m worried how I’ll cope with the excirment.

There are interviews on Robert, Kristen & Taylor, I am offering scans, so if you want them email me, I am charging though

Twilight Watch

How does New Moon differ from Twilight?

You know, Twilight was an independent movie. It was shot very documentary style, the way Catherine [Hardwicke, Twilight’s director] shoots. It has a rawness to it, which I think is nice. New Moon’s a little bit crisper, it has a little bit more of a studio feel, but it still has that edge.

What’s it like playing the same character for three different directors?

That gets interesting. It’s exciting in one way because every director brings their own flavor to the movie. Each director’s personality is different so you kind of have to adapt to their way of working, but I’ve had really good experiences on all three. Sometimes it’s nice working with the same person over and over because there’s a familiarity, but I’m used to working with different directors. On Nurse Jackie we get different directors on each episode. I like it because they bring different ideas and make you think of things you might not have thought of before—pushing you to look at it from different angles. I think it’s harder on the directors to come in and try to make these movies as grand as Twilight was and take on the responsibility of getting the story accurate in terms of telling it from the book. Then they have a whole cast that they haven’t dealt with before, so I think it would be more daunting for the director.
